Edinburg to Host Ceremonial 9/11 Walk on Sept. 11

In remembrance of the sacrifices made by first responders in New York City on September 11, 2001, the City of Edinburg will host a free Honorary Walk on Friday, September 11, 2026. Courtesy image Texas Border Business - Advertisement - EDINBURG, Texas – In remembrance of the sacrifices made by first responders in New York City on September 11, 2001, the City of Edinburg will host a free Honorary Walk on Friday, September 11, 2026. The walk will begin with a special remembrance ceremony at Fire Station 1, located at 212 W. McIntyre Street, at 8:45 a.m. The event will feature the ringing of the bells, the wailing of sirens, and TAPS in tribute to the victims. Following the ceremony, the walk will kick off at 9:11 a.m., covering a 911-meter route around City Hall and back to Fire Station 1.
