Learn more about our recent releases and all of the titles we are eagerly awaiting this fall season! Recent News Our trending titles on the main page has been updated to include Big Little Truths which is the second in the Big Little Lies series by Liane Moriarty after more than a decade after the release of the first book. Not a Word is the new psychological thriller by Linwood Barclay about man investigating the death of his parents and Heart of Glass was just released which is a psychological thriller about an investigation into a serial killer by Toronto based author Jennifer Hillier. There are a few older titles that have renewed interest including The Deal, The Score and The Mistake by Canadian author Elle Kennedy which was just been adapted to film. As the Dungeon Crawler Carl series forges on with the eighth book, more people are getting onboard with the first in the series. Carly Fortune's Every Summer After is last year's release but of course Our Perfect Storm remains hugely popular. We have a new list of staff picks cover everything from teen fiction, a Pulitzer Prize winner, ecological destruction, garbage, poverty, a hamlet-retelling, memoirs and more. September is the month for Truth and Reconciliation which you can see on our webpage with resources and booklists for adults, teens, and kids. September is also Mennonite Heritage Week, British Home Child Day, and Gender Equality Week. We've added another electric keyboard for anyone who wants to try their hand at a learning the piano. It also has built in drum loops to play along with which can be fun. You can check out our digital resources for musical instruction from ArtistWorks which is an online platform where lessons are taught by some very well-established musicians. There are also courses on Udemy and there are instructional books for adults and kids. If you like arts and crafts, we have added Cricuts and Heat presses to our collection with an accompanying booklist on Crafting. On Order Crossing the Wine Dark Sea is a new book by Emily Wilson who is famous for translating the Odyssey and the Iliad. But this is a more general work about the problems of translation in classical literature. We are receiving several new graphic novels including an adaptation of The Midnight Library by Matt Haig illustrated by Fred Fordham. There is an adaptation of Legends & Lattes by Travis Baldree illustrated by Shanti Rittgers and Sarah Webb. The new Miley Cyrus album is called Bass Persuades, and Greta Van Fleet's new album Palace for the People will release on October 9th. Behind the Castle Walls is the memoir by Bob Chapek about his time working at Disney. Betrayal is about the actions of Donald Trump and Vladamir Putin ending the long-standing respect for borders established after World War II. Fall Releases As of a couple weeks ago, fall releases have been added to the catalogue so now is a good time to look through the New Titles page. Scion is a new cyberpunk thriller, Michelle Good (author of Five Little Indians) has another book coming out called Eliza Sunshine. Releases from popular authors include Jeffery Deaver, James Patterson (several), Stuart Woods, V.E. Schwab, John Grisham, Danielle Steel (x2), Ian Rankin, Nora Roberts, Ashley Audrain, Jodi Picoult, Freida McFadden, and many others. But I've broken some of them down by month below: September Patrick deWitt, author of Sisters Brothers and The Librarianist has a new novel coming out in September called Dodge City about 'a young man on an amphetamine-fueled cross-country road trip, fleeing the draft for the safe haven of Canada'. The film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood's The Love Hypothesis will premiere on September 23rd per deadline and We Chase Shadows by Richard Osman is coming out on September 15th. October The new book in the Chief Inspector Gamache series by Louise Penny is called Miss Wolcott's Ghost and will release on October 20, 2026. Dead Before Tea Time is the new book in the Agatha Raisin Mystery series coming out on October 15th. The Thrice-Bound Fool by Christopher Buehlman will release this October which is a sequel to a book called The Blacktongue Thief. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is coming out on October 23, 2026 which is one of the library's most popular videogames. We are getting Chrystia Freeland's book Unreliable Boyfriend: An Insider's View of Dealing with a Chaotic Superpower, Plutocrats, and Other Complicated People. Also out in October is Jacob Tierney's book I'll Believe in Anything which is about the creation of the Heated Rivalry show including the annotated script of the show. We've got the new romance book by Talia Hibbert called Untouchable with a release date of October 13th 2026 (author of Get a Life, Chloe Brown). The A Court of Thorns and Roses series (ACOTAR for short) will receive two new books in the next six months with A Court of Splintered Harmony releasing October 27th, and A Court of Forgotten Melody releasing January 12, 2027. November The newest addition to the Flavia de Luce series by Alan Bradley is Numb Were the Beadsman's Fingers coming out this November. The new David Baldacci book is called All In and will release on November 10th. Rebecca Yarros will be a releasing a new book on November 17th of this year called Peculiar Stars (not part of the Fourth Wing series). White House Robot Romance by Toronto-based graphic novelist Chip Zdarsky is about two service droids that work in the white house who develop feelings for each other as one of them in set to be decommissioned and the President prepares to invade Canada. Coming out on November 10th.
