King travels to Norway for state funeral of King Harald V - Jordan News

King Abdullah II left for Norway on Tuesday to attend the state funeral of King Harald V, accompanied by Queen Rania. Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II was sworn in as Regent before the Cabinet, taking the constitutional oath to deputise for the King during his absence. اضافة اعلان Harald died on August 28 at Rikshospitalet in Oslo at the age of 89, after 35 years on the throne. His son succeeded him immediately as King Haakon VIII and took the oath before the Storting on September 1. The funeral takes place on Wednesday at 1pm at Oslo Cathedral, preceded by a procession from the Royal Palace and followed by burial in the royal mausoleum at Akershus Fortress. Foreign royals, heads of state and prime ministers will join the procession. Norway will observe a nationwide minute of silence as the service begins.
