Screven County Sheriff's Office announces new speeding policy

SCREVEN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — The Screven County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) has announced their new zero-tolerance for speeding initiative. The SCSO stated in a release that deputies will be taking a zero-tolerance approach to speeding. Anyone stopped for speeding will receive a citation. There will no longer be warnings until further notice. The decision comes after four reported fatalities occurred in the past 30 days on Screven County roadways. 'This isn't about writing tickets. It's about preventing another family from receiving a knock on the door that changes their lives forever,' said Sheriff Norman Roya in a Facebook post.
