Emergency services' presence in Llandrindod Wells explained

People living in the spa town reported seeing multiple emergency vehicles responding to some sort of incident between 5pm and 7pm on Monday. Witnesses said they saw multiple ambulances, a fire engine and police car in the vicinity of the Metropole Hotel, while several people reported that an air ambulance landed soon after. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MWWFRS) and the Wales Air Ambulance confirmed their attendance at the scene, on Temple Street. 'At 4.39pm on Monday, September 7, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crew from Llandrindod Wells Fire Station was mobilised to an incident at Temple Street in Llandrindod Wells,' said a fire service spokesperson. 'The crew responded to assist at a medical incident at a commercial property. One casualty was conveyed to hospital by air ambulance. 'This incident required a multi-agency response, with the ambulance service and air ambulance also in attendance. 'The crew left the scene at 6.30pm.' One person, who was driving past the scene, on Temple Street, at around 5pm said they saw an ambulance and two ambulance cars, all with their blue lights on. Another witness said three ambulance vehicles and an air ambulance helicopter were spotted in The Lant area at around 7pm. The helicopter reportedly took off soon after. 'I can confirm a Wales Air Ambulance helicopter attended an incident in that region yesterday,' said a spokesperson for the Wales Air Ambulance charity. 'Our Welshpool-based crew was allocated at 5.12pm and arrived at the scene at 5.39pm. Our involvement concluded at 7.14pm.'
