An explosive video from CBS News just ruined former President Joe Biden's Labor Day weekend. The legacy media was forced to show Taliban's enjoying billions worth of abandoned American military equipment. Yet the network went out of its way to soften blame for the Biden administration's disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, critics said. The report aired as the country marks the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, five years after the Taliban's return to power and the surrender to the radical Islamic terror group. Video showed Taliban fighters using American-made Humvees, rifles, and gear, including one Humvee still bearing a faded Green Bay Packers decal from the U.S. unit that once operated it. Critics pounced for CBS News for spinning the truth. 'This is not a disputed talking point. It is Pentagon data,' PJ Media's Matt Margolis wrote. 'Reporters standing in Kabul have filmed it, including CBS' own crew.' He wasn't alone. 'The Taliban did retake Kabul; the Biden administration did think the former government wouldn't collapse; and they did let billions in military equipment fall into the hands of terrorists,' Townhall's Matt Vespa wrote. 'Again, 'what he says' — you have video footage, man. It's a fact. Biden didn't let the Taliban purchase this equipment.' Reports say the Taliban took approximately $7.2 billion in American military hardware after the withdrawal, including at least 78 aircraft that cost taxpayers $923 million, over 40,000 military vehicles, and more than 300,000 in weapons and firearms. Trump has demanded the Taliban return the equipment since taking office, but has been rejected. Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi told CBS the hardware now belongs to 'the state of Afghanistan.' The Taliban has staged regular military parades through their capital of Kabul of the seized American vehicles and weapons to celebrate Biden's deadly surrender.
