Habitat ReStore has a new home in Midland

The Permian Basin Habitat ReStore has officially moved to a new storefront, marking a major milestone in its ongoing mission to build affordable housing. The ReStore was originally located on Florida Avenue before moving east of downtown alongside the Habitat offices in 2009. The ReStore's new location at 3001 W. Loop 250 N. offers a more accessible retail environment for the Permian Basin community, officials said. 'Moving to Loop 250 is all about location, location, location, putting us right in the heart of the community where more shoppers and donors can reach us,' said Joey Hopkins, executive director of Permian Basin Habitat for Humanity. 'Even in a more streamlined space, every single item bought or donated directly fuels our mission of changing lives through affordable homeownership.' The ReStore is open to more than Habitat homeowners. It is open to all shoppers, contract workers, DIYers and bargain hunters looking for quality home goods and building supplies. Shoppers can browse a constantly changing inventory of new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials and home decor in the store and online. The store generates revenue for Permian Basin Habitat for Humanity. Every dollar spent or donated at the ReStore goes directly toward funding local home-building programs. The better the ReStore performs financially, the more homes Habitat can build for local families.
