The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi has laid the foundation stone for its Islamabad campus in DHA Islamabad Phase 5 under a partnership with DHA Islamabad-Rawalpindi aimed at expanding access to higher education.
The ceremony was attended by IBA Karachi Executive Director Dr S. Akbar Zaidi, the administrator of DHA Islamabad and officials and experts from the education sector.
Dr Zaidi said the new campus would mark an important milestone for Pakistan's education sector and provide students from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northern areas with access to world-class education.
He said the campus would focus on educational quality, human capital development and leadership training, with the aim of preparing future leaders.
'Today, the foundation of not just a campus but also the future leaders of Pakistan has been laid,' Dr Zaidi said.
The Islamabad campus will include a modern academic block, research facilities, a library and an auditorium. It will also provide sports and residential facilities for students.
Dr Zaidi said the campus would further IBA's vision of knowledge, research and practical impact and create new opportunities for collaboration with academic institutions and industry.
He added that the campus had the potential to emerge as a major centre of higher education in the region.
