VENICE, Ill. – Fire crews are responding to a massive fire Tuesday morning at a recycling plant in Venice, Illinois. The fire broke out around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of State Street. No injuries have been reported at this time. It's unclear what led up to the fire. Heavy smoke from the fire is visible from a distance away. Photos from FOX 2 photographers at the scene appear to show damage to the fence and various recycled items. It's believed, based on preliminary information, the fire may have started from a vehicle and spread to the recycling plant.
