Nearly 4 in 10 men are trying health trends they find on social media ATLANTA — A growing number of men are turning to social media for health and wellness information, according to a new survey. The survey found 39% of men have tried a health or wellness trend after seeing it on social media. About three-quarters of men also said the health content they see online motivates them to improve their health. Dr. Petar Bajic with Cleveland Clinic says men should check with a medical professional to make sure the health information they are consuming is credible. 'We can help provide guidance on the right types of diet, the right types of exercises, how to improve sleep, all of these things that are so important,' Bajic said. The survey also found about one-third of men use supplements or performance enhancers promoted on social media before consulting a medical professional. 'The difference between supplements and pharmaceuticals is that supplements really do not have to undergo any sort of testing to prove that they're safe or effective, and I think that's a differentiation that a lot of people don't understand,' Bajic said.
