World on Yas Island is targeting for the opening of three new Harry Potter-themed lands. The new themed lands, Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest, will span approximately 63,000 square meters (678,000 square feet), officials announced Monday. The theme park will also be the first in the world to feature full-scale recreations of both Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley within the same park. Potterheads and theme park fans alike have a new reason to look forward to 2029. That's the year Warner Bros. World on Yas Island is targeting for the opening of three new Harry Potter-themed lands. (Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi) Universal's parks in Orlando, Hollywood and other locations offer detailed recreations of Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley and Hogwarts, but never all the major elements within a single park. Universal Studios Hollywood, for example, does not include Diagon Alley. Universal Orlando Resort, on the other hand, features Diagon Alley and Hogwarts Castle, but not within the same park. Both U.S. destinations include Hogsmeade. Additionally, officials said the lands will offer world-exclusive Harry Potter rides created exclusively for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi. "Introducing three new Harry Potter–themed lands allows us to deepen the connection between our iconic franchises and the guests who cherish them,' Simon Robinson, president of global experiences & studio operations, Warner Bros. Discovery, said in a statement. 'This development reflects our long–term vision for immersive entertainment experiences that set new benchmarks for the industry, and we look forward to unveiling environments that fans will love for generations to come." The project will make Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi the seventh theme park worldwide to feature Harry Potter attractions and the first not operated by Universal, according to a report from Forbes.
