Uttar Pradesh Minister Defends Mosque Action in Saharanpur Amid Political Criticism

Saharanpur, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh Minister Narendra Kashyap has responded to criticisms from Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav regarding the recent action taken against a mosque in Saharanpur. Kashyap emphasized that the measures were carried out following legal procedures and court orders. Kashyap accused Yadav of engaging in 'appeasement politics' and highlighted the need for Yadav to consider the circumstances surrounding the mosque's construction. He noted that a well was discovered at the site where the mosque was built, suggesting that the construction was unauthorized. According to Kashyap, questioning the legality of the actions taken is unwarranted, especially when they were executed under judicial guidance. The minister also referenced the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, using a poster featuring Yadav's image to remind the public of the violence during Yadav's tenure. He claimed that significant unrest occurred in Uttar Pradesh under Yadav's leadership, asserting that the electorate would hold him accountable in the upcoming 2027 assembly elections. Addressing Yadav's claims of promoting social justice, Kashyap argued that the Samajwadi Party's efforts have primarily benefited the Yadav and Muslim communities. He criticized the previous government for failing to implement effective policies for caste-based census and ensuring equitable reservation benefits for backward classes. Kashyap further challenged Yadav's comments on BJP Uttar Pradesh in-charge Vinod Tawde, recalling instances of corruption and land encroachment during the Samajwadi Party's governance. He suggested that Tawde's remarks about the party's definition were justified in light of these issues. Supporting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's recent statement about promoting 'pure love' instead of hatred, Kashyap praised the RSS as a national organization dedicated to enhancing India's honor and positive image globally. Regarding the crackdown on alleged illegal madrasas in Uttarakhand, Kashyap backed the state government's actions, asserting the importance of ensuring that educational institutions do not compromise children's futures. He expressed concerns that some madrasas might be fostering extremist ideologies rather than providing proper education. Kashyap concluded by reiterating that the primary goal of educational institutions should be to secure a better future for children.
