Gulf Coast Community Foundation give back to children in need The Gulf Coast Community Foundation gave back to the children of Hancock and Harrison counties. Almost $23,000 in grants were given out. CASA of South Mississippi received $8,000 for the Child Well-Being Project, providing school bags and supplies to CASA children five and under. The Hancock County School District received $8,400 to support Hope Squad. Make-A-Wish Mississippi received $6,500 to grant a wish for a child with a critical illness in either Hancock or Harrison County. The community foundation shares they are grateful for the generosity behind the Velkas Fund and for the organizations putting those dollars to work.
