An impaired driving charge has been filed after Guelph police say they found a man passed out in a running vehicle Sunday morning. Just after 6:30 a.m., police were called to an apartment building to investigate someone who had been parked in a running pickup for about three hours. Officers arrived to find a man asleep in the driver's seat of the truck, which was blocking the only entrance to the building. Officers woke the man and noted signs of impairment. After failing a roadside breath test, the man was taken to the police station, where police say further tests confirmed he had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system. A 39-year-old Guelph man is charged with impaired operation. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 20.Error!
