Does LSU coach Lane Kiffin plan to roster ex-NFL players this week?

BATON ROUGE – Lane Kiffin doesn't have an update on whether or not LSU football will add a pair of ex-NFL players to the team's roster ahead of this weekend's game against Louisiana Tech. LSU and Kiffin decided not to roster tight end Dae'Quan Wright and defensive tackle Zxavian Harris for the opener against Clemson despite the two of them along with 29 other plaintiffs in their well-publicized eligibility case against the NCAA and Southeastern Conference was granted a fifth year, legally paving their way as of now to return to college football. "I don't have anything on that, sorry," Kiffin told reporters at his weekly press conference Monday afternoon. After the game, he said the players were not distracted by the outside narratives and noise at all. "I've been criticized heavily for the last two weeks and I get that. I understand," Kiffin said following LSU's big win Saturday night. "But my job is not to please you and worry about what you're going to write. My job is what I believe is right. And I believe we were right for what was right for those kids. "I'm not going to get into all the reasons but that's what I believe. Many people don't like that but they don't understand that. Maybe if they know my relationship with Dae'Quan, you'd think a little different." Wright told The Daily Advertiser following being granted the injunction at the courthouse on Sept. 3 that he expected to be on the roster and suited up for LSU's opener against Clemson. He practiced with the team the whole week leading up to Saturday but was ultimately left off. Harris said that he hadn't practiced with the LSU team yet but his timeline was being ready to play was by LSU's road game at Ole Miss on Sept. 19. But with Kiffin and LSU deciding to leave them off the roster for the opener, it leaves questions about if they'll be added for conference play.
