PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Police said a shooting investigation is underway at the Addison Road Metro station, prompting Blue and Silver line trains to bypass the station Monday afternoon. In a post on the social platform X just minutes after 2:30 p.m., Metro Transit Police said officers responded to the Addison Road station for a reported shooting. 'Expect a heavy police presence in that area,' police wrote in the post. At this time, it is unclear whether anyone was hurt. As a result of the investigation, Metro said Blue and Silver Line trains are temporarily bypassing the Addison Road Metro station, with delays in both directions. Officials urged passengers to use the Route P63 for alternate travel between Addison Road and Capitol Heights, Morgan Road, and Downtown Largo. This is a developing story.
