Special anti-polio campaign to begin in DIKhan on November 2

Dera Ismail Khan , Oct 31 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Hikmatullah Khan chaired an important meeting here Saturday to review arrangements for the upcoming special anti-polio campaign, scheduled to begin in all 53 union councils of the district on November 2, 2026. The meeting was attended by the District Police Officer (DPO), all Assistant Commissioners and officials of the Health Department. During the meeting, officials briefed the participants that a total of 299,273 children below the age of five had been targeted for vaccination during the campaign. To ensure the successful implementation of the drive, a total of 1,991 teams, including mobile and fixed vaccination teams, have been constituted to administer oral polio vaccine to children across the district. The meeting was also informed that comprehensive security arrangements had been made to ensure the safety of polio workers and other personnel performing duties during the campaign. Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Khan urged all segments of society, particularly parents, to ensure that their children below five years of age received polio drops to protect them against lifelong disability. He also called upon the public to extend full cooperation to vaccination teams so that every eligible child could be covered during the campaign.
