XIAMEN, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- China will continue to actively expand voluntary opening-up and take more concrete measures to facilitate international investment in China, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng said on Tuesday.
Han made the remarks while addressing the opening ceremony of the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) in the eastern Chinese coastal city of Xiamen.
As the world enters a new period of turbulence and transformation, marked by rising uncertainties and destabilizing factors, the historical trend of openness and cooperation remains unchanged, Han said, adding that the CIFIT is more relevant than ever.
China hopes that companies from around the world will seize the opportunities presented by China's opening-up and development, continue to deepen their presence in the Chinese market and work toward win-win outcomes, he said.
He noted that China is committed to strengthening international cooperation on scientific, technological, and industrial innovation based on complementarity, equality, and mutual benefit.
China stands ready to work with all parties to foster and safeguard an open global innovation ecosystem, and jointly cultivate new drivers of growth that benefit the entire world, he said.
In the face of rising trade protectionism and geopolitical risks, China stands ready to work with all parties to promote the development of global industrial and supply chains in a more stable, smooth, and inclusive direction, and jointly uphold the multilateral trading system, he added. Enditem
