MITCHELLS Plain residents have until Friday, 25 September to nominate community members for the 2026 Mitchell's Plain United Residents Association (MURA) Community Service Awards.
Categories include arts and culture, business, civic, education, health, media, older persons, religious, safety and security, sport, welfare and youth.
The second annual awards will take place on Friday, 30 October at West End Primary School in Lentegeur, against the backdrop of Mitchells Plain's 50th anniversary and MURA's 10th anniversary.
Norman Jantjes, deputy chairperson of MURA, said: 'The awards are two years old. We're also celebrating MURA's 10th anniversary and, within the context of Mitchells Plain turning 50, it is perfect timing.'
'We want to promote positive role models, tell the positive stories and reward volunteerism.'
