Healthcare venture capital firm EHA Impact Ventures has announced a $100,000 follow-on investment in medical technology developer Ananya Health. The capital will support efforts to secure product clearance from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The injection marks the third investment by the fund in Ananya Health. The transaction reinforces its strategy of providing patient capital to female-led businesses addressing key healthcare challenges across Africa. Ananya Health is developing a battery-powered cryoablation device designed to freeze abnormal cervical cells before they turn cancerous. Traditional treatment requires specialist physicians, cryogen gas, and high capital expenditure, which restricts preventative care in low-resource settings. Patients can receive treatment from nurse-midwives at primary healthcare centres rather than facing referral to specialist hospitals. 'Every clinical milestone we have hit was built on the assumption that this device must work for a midwife in Nairobi and an OB-GYN in Chicago alike,' Ananya Health CEO Anu Parvatiyar said. 'The reinvestment from EIV moves us closer to FDA clearance to ensure we can distribute this device to patients everywhere and prevent suffering from a manageable disease.' Related News The funding will finance technical, clinical, and regulatory work required for the company's 510(k) submission to the US regulator. Ananya Health targets regulatory submission in mid-2027 as a precursor to commercial distribution. 'Healthcare innovation requires patience,' EHA Impact Ventures CEO Evelyn Castle said. 'The path from concept to commercialisation is rarely linear, particularly for medical devices that must meet rigorous regulatory standards before they can reach the market. Our follow-on investment reflects our belief that meaningful impact occurs when investors remain committed beyond the first cheque.' Ananya Health's device has achieved several technical milestones, including a battery-operated cooling mechanism that reaches -40°C. The business has established partnerships with clinical organisations, advocacy groups, and screening providers to support market entry in the US, Mexico, Nigeria, and India. The company aims to make cervical cancer prevention accessible across underserved regions by shifting procedures from specialist units to primary care. As its portfolio expands, EHA Impact Ventures continues to focus on long-term funding models to support high-impact health technology across target markets.
