This Tuesday at 7 p.m., "Le Temps" and TV channel La Télé host Gerhard Andrey, Christine Bulliard-Marbach, Yvan Pahud and Samuel Sommaruga to debate the neutrality initiative being put to the people on 27 September Every morning at 6am, the newsletter that covers the day's news so you can start your day well informed. Should the concept of neutrality be more strictly enshrined in our Constitution? That is what the neutrality initiative demands. It will be put to the vote on 27 September and was launched by the association Pro Suisse (formerly ASIN), with the backing of the SVP and part of the radical left. For the initiative's proponents, it is necessary to rein in a Federal Council which, they say, interprets neutrality — Switzerland's very DNA — too broadly, notably by adopting the European Union's sanctions against Russia.
