That means Barney is A) Getting open more or B) has a better rapport on the field with AC. Start scheming to get people open and you start getting away from what you do well. I would venture to guess that in all reality Dana feels that way too, perhaps he said that more as a way to settle Hunter ( if he were maybe grumpy about not getting the ball enough), at least letting him know he recognzed he didn't get a lot of targets. An offense that spreads the ball around more is harder for a defense to defend against. If Barney gets 64 targets to Hunter's 3, then teams with a lockdown corner have him linked to Barney's hip. If it's more versatile, defenses have to beat your offense not specific players. He says he thought Dawson Merritt "played some really good ball."
