MOREHEAD, Ky. -- A day after earning the Pioneer League Freshman of the Week accolade, Morehead State wide receiver Cross Watson has been named the best freshman in the nation this week as he earned the Stats Perform FCS National Freshman Player of the Week honor. A 6-0 wideout from Campbellsville, Ky., the former Taylor County High School standout broke out big time with a 132-yard, three-touchdown effort in the Eagles' 75-24 win over Kentucky Christian.
