Mike Markewinski joined the CBS19 team in July 2026 as the evening executive producer. He is a storyteller, news junkie, sports fan and BBQ enthusiast with more than 25 years in television news.He's worked as a producer, multimedia journalist and newsroom leader, chasing breaking news and telling the stories of people and communities along the way. I still love the rush of a newsroom and the challenge of finding a story that makes people stop, watch and care.When he's not working, you'll likely find me cheering for the Chiefs, Royals or Jayhawks — or searching for great BBQ. After 25-plus years, he's still curious, still passionate and always looking for the next great story.
