Pixel 11 preorders to open hours before Made by Google keynote Google will let you buy a Pixel 11 hours before it officially exists. Pre-orders for the new phone lineup open at 10am ET today, while the Made by Google keynote in New York doesn't start until 6pm ET on Wednesday, an eight-hour gap that's unusual even by Google's own standards. Google's pre-orders will be live at 10am Eastern (7am Pacific, 3pm London), according to reports from outlets covering the event that followed the countdown from the Google Store. This is a significant difference from what usually happens when the pre-orders go live at the same time as the keynote itself, right at the end of the embargo. Google did something similar with the Pixel 10 last year, although there wasn't such a wide gap. Pixel 11: Made by Google event The actual event will begin at 6pm EST (11pm BST), hosted by the comedian Trevor Noah and featuring Alex Cooper, Stephen Curry, Shubman Gill, and Ayami Nakajo. Expected devices include four phones, the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Other devices Google is expected to launch include the Pixel Watch 5, new earbuds colour options, and a Pixel Tag tracker that rivals Apple's AirTag. It has been reported that Google has sent out discount codes to some customers through an email, as per reports by 9to5Google. The codes are worth anywhere between $100 and $250, but most likely around $150. These codes are redeemable along with any vouchers or store credits but cannot be redeemed along with any other promotions, and Google has made it clear that the redemption period ends on August 27. In case anyone wants to make use of one, then it's advised to do so before pre-orders begin. As the rumours of 256GB are rising, starting off the series and a price increase of about $100 from last year's models, it will be interesting to see how well they perform once reviews are out after the keynote finishes. The shipping is estimated to happen in around a week.
