Blanar: Slovakia to Sign Hague Arbitration Court Host Agreement

Bratislava, 7 September (TASR) - Foreign and European Affairs Minister Juraj Blanar will sign a host agreement between the Slovak Republic and the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), based in The Hague, with its Secretary-General Marcin Czepelak on Tuesday, 8 September, TASR learnt from the ministry's press department on Monday. The agreement will establish legal framework for any arbitration, mediation, conciliation and similar proceedings conducted by the PCA on Slovak soil. The Slovak Government approved the signing of the agreement at its meeting on 26 August this year. Its conclusion will expand existing cooperation with the PCA and reaffirm Slovakia's support for international law and the peaceful settlement of disputes. "Slovakia will also join the small group of states that create conditions for international proceedings administered by this institution to be organised outside its seat in The Hague," the press department added. mf
