Facebook recorded the highest share of reported cases of technology-facilitated sexual abuse involving children among the five social media platforms highlighted in a UNICEF report. According to the data, 50 per cent of the cases occurred on Facebook, followed by WhatsApp at 29 per cent and Instagram at 24 per cent. Snapchat accounted for 13 per cent, while TikTok recorded 12 per cent. The report, titled Through Children's Eyes, indicates that, on average, almost 60 per cent of cases of technology-facilitated sexual abuse happened on social media platforms. The figures highlight the risks children face while using online platforms.
