Sanrio's Pompompurin and Kuromi Transform Into Black Cats for Exclusive New Halloween Collab Godiva Japan is teaming up with Sanrio for part of its new 2026 Halloween collection, transforming Pompompurin and Kuromi into black cats for a pair of exclusive plush charm sets. The Sanrio releases form part of Godiva's wider 'Black Cat Collection,' an eight-item seasonal range built around the chocolatier's Halloween black cat mascot and a group of accompanying ghosts. This year's artwork was created by Paris-based artist Nathalie Lété, whose illustrations appear across the collection's packaging and accessories to give the range a playful hand-drawn Halloween look. Pompompurin joins the collection during his 30th anniversary year, while Kuromi returns to Godiva following her appearance in the brand's 2025 collaboration. Godiva and Sanrio have regularly worked together on seasonal releases, with their annual Valentine's Day collaboration returning at the beginning of 2026 with a new collection featuring Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi and Cinnamoroll. That Valentine's range paired the four characters with Godiva chocolates alongside specially made plush toys and mascot holders, each embroidered with the Godiva logo and '2026' on their feet to commemorate the release. Each character was also matched with a different G Chocolat flavor, including Dark Cacao Ganache for Kuromi and Milk Salted Caramel Ganache for Cinnamoroll, while the new Halloween collection shifts the partnership toward black cat costumes, autumn flavors and seasonal accessories. Let's take a look at the complete Halloween 2026 lineup! 'Black Cat Collection G Chocolat Assortment, 9 Pieces' – ¥2,322 (approximately $15 USD / £11 GBP) The cylindrical black cat and ghost box contains Milk Salted Caramel Ganache, Milk Apple Ganache and Dark Raspberry G Chocolat, with three pieces of each flavor. 'Black Cat Collection G Chocolat Assortment, 3 Pieces + Pompompurin Pouch' – ¥2,750 (approximately $18 USD / £13 GBP) This Godiva online store exclusive combines three G Chocolat pieces with a Pompompurin pouch created for his 30th anniversary year. 'Black Cat Collection G Crispy Chocolat Assortment, 3 Pieces' – ¥540 (approximately $3 USD / £3 GBP) Three bite-sized chocolates combine crisp waffle pieces with chocolate and come packaged with the collection's black cat and ghost artwork. 'Black Cat Collection G Crispy Chocolat Assortment, 3 Pieces + Pompompurin Plush Charm' – ¥4,070 (approximately $26 USD / £19 GBP) The online-exclusive set adds an original Pompompurin plush charm wearing a removable black cat hood to the three-piece G Crispy Chocolat assortment. 'Black Cat Collection G Crispy Chocolat Assortment, 3 Pieces + Kuromi Plush Charm' – ¥4,070 (approximately $26 USD / £19 GBP) Kuromi receives her own black cat makeover for the second online-exclusive plush set, again using a removable hood that can be taken off after Halloween. 'Black Cat Collection Carré Assortment, 4 Pieces with Pouch' – ¥1,980 (approximately $13 USD / £9 GBP) The set contains Milk and 50% Dark Carré chocolates alongside a polka-dot pouch decorated with the Black Cat Collection artwork. 'Black Cat Collection Halloween Party Set' – ¥3,402 (approximately $22 USD / £16 GBP) Godiva's larger seasonal bundle includes a four-piece chocolate assortment, G Cubes inside a ghost-decorated drawstring pouch, Mont Blanc langue de chat cookies and a reusable bag printed with the black cat character. 'Black Cat Collection Pumpkin Langue de Chat Cookies, 4 Pieces' – ¥696 (approximately $4 USD / £3 GBP) Pumpkin powder is blended into white chocolate before being sandwiched between crisp langue de chat cookies, with the four-piece box carrying the same black cat and ghost theme. The Godiva Black Cat Collection will begin rolling out across Japan from September 9, with products sold through Godiva stores, GODIVA café locations and the company's Japanese online shop depending on the item. The Pompompurin plush charm set will be available from the start of the campaign, while Kuromi's matching set follows separately on October 1. Godiva plans to offer the Halloween collection through October 31, 2026, although every item is being produced in limited quantities and individual products may sell out before the campaign ends.
