When military personnel can receive 10 monthly payments upon dismissal. As indicated by the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support, despite the common phrase about "10 salaries," the legislation does not establish a separate fixed payment of this amount. The sum equivalent to 10 monthly payments can arise based on a certain calculation formula. It concerns a payment amounting to 50% of the monthly monetary allowance for each full calendar year of service. That is: 50% of the monthly monetary allowance × number of full years of service. For example: 10 years of service → 5 monthly allowances; 15 years → 7.5 monthly allowances; 20 years → 10 monthly allowances; 25 years → 12.5 monthly allowances; 30 years → 15 monthly allowances. Thus, a serviceman with 20 years of relevant service can receive an amount equivalent to 10 of his monthly monetary allowances if the reason for dismissal entitles him to a payment of 50% for each year. Who receives 50% for each year of service According to current rules for servicemen who are not mobilized under a special procedure, such assistance is provided, in particular, upon dismissal: due to health reasons — without the requirement of 10 years of service; under certain contract grounds, if the established conditions regarding length of service are met; in connection with release from captivity; with 10 or more years of service — in cases defined by law, including dismissal due to age, staff reductions, contract expiration, and some other grounds. Therefore, 20 years of service alone does not automatically mean "10 salaries." It is necessary to look at the exact reason for the serviceman's dismissal. When dismissed at own request, the amount may be lower In cases of dismissal at own request, due to family circumstances or other valid reasons, the law provides for payment of 25% of the monthly monetary allowance for each full calendar year of service, with 10 or more years of service — in cases stipulated by law. Thus, with 20 years of service, this will be not 10 but 5 monthly monetary allowances. From which amount the payment is calculated The calculation is made not only from the official salary. The monthly monetary allowance includes the basic and additional types of monthly monetary payments that the serviceman received for the last official position. At the same time, bonuses are not included in this calculation. For example, if the monthly monetary allowance is 30,000 hryvnias, and the serviceman is entitled to a payment of 50% for each of the 20 years of service: 30,000 UAH × 50% × 20 years = 300,000 UAH. This amount equals 10 monthly allowances. Separate rules apply for mobilized personnel For servicemen called up during mobilization for a special period or from among reservists, a special procedure applies. They are subject to a special procedure approved by the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 460. Therefore, the formula "50% for each year" cannot be automatically applied to a mobilized person just because they have a certain total length of service. When the payment may not be assigned The one-time financial assistance is not paid in case of dismissal on certain negative grounds. In particular, this may concern dismissal due to: unsuitability for service; systematic failure to fulfill contract conditions; certain cases related to a guilty court verdict or administrative offenses.
