E-rase Your E-waste Set For Sept. 11-12 In Sidney & Fairview

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the annual E-rase your E-waste event in Richland County. This year's collection event is set for Sept. 11-12, so clear out those closets and storage sheds and recycle all of those damaged and obsolete electronics. 'We've had a number of calls already from people asking about our fall event, so we are excited to let everyone know that the dates have been set,' event coordinator Heather Luinstra said early this month. 'Once again, we have partnered with Yellowstone E-Waste Solutions out of Billings and we will host a joint event with the Town of Fairview. Collection times for the weekend event in Sidney are from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 12. The collection site will be at the Richland County Shop, right next to the fairgrounds. Fairview's collection event is on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon. The Fairview location will be at the water station on 9th Street. 'Just like many other markets that we are seeing changes in lately, this year we will see a few changes to what our recycling partner is able to accept to recycle. Similar to the last few years we cannot accept any tube type TVs or computer monitors. Flat screen televisions will be accepted this year, however there will be a $25 fee. This is due to an increase in the processing fees. Our recycler accepts all rechargeable batteries, even car batteries, as long as they are in good shape and not damaged. And we encourage people to visit the Yellowstone E-Waste Solutions website to see all the items that can be brought into our event,' said Luinstra.
