The third round of the Regional Tourism Boost funds five initiatives, to drive more Australian, North American and Chinese visitors into the regions.
It includes 995-thousand-dollars for a food and hospitality campaign led by Rotorua NZ, focused on Chinese tourists.
Mayor Tania Tapsell says food's a big part of why people visit - but our marketing's fallen short compared to other countries.
