Pakistans Drone Strikes in Balochistan Leave Three Injured, Bodies Found Spark Outrage

Quetta, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : In Quetta, Balochistan, a recent drone attack by Pakistani forces has resulted in injuries to three individuals, including a child. The incident occurred in the Kharkocha area of Mastung district on Sunday, as reported by local media sources. The injured parties have been admitted to Nawab Ghaus Bakhsh Raisani Hospital. The attack has created an atmosphere of fear in the region, where residents are already suffering due to ongoing military operations and restrictions on movement. According to the Balochistan Post, heightened security measures have raised concerns among local communities and human rights organizations regarding their humanitarian impact. Reports indicate that air and drone strikes by Pakistani forces have been observed in various parts of Mastung, leading to civilian casualties. In a related development, a prominent human rights organization reported the recovery of at least six unidentified bodies from two locations in Mastung on Sunday. This discovery has intensified fears that these may be the remains of Baloch youths who were previously subjected to enforced disappearances by Pakistani forces. Baloch Voice for Justice (BVJ) noted that signs of torture were found on the recovered bodies. Hours later, police officer Abdul Raouf Baloch oversaw the transfer of the bodies to a hospital. The organization stated that the bodies were initially taken to Quetta but were later returned and discarded on the main highway. Subsequently, they were reportedly loaded into a pickup truck and transported to an unknown location. Expressing serious concerns, BVJ highlighted that innocent civilians, particularly youth, are allegedly being forcibly disappeared from their homes, educational institutions, and public streets in Balochistan. These individuals are reportedly taken to secret detention centers where they endure severe torture. Furthermore, BVJ accused authorities of executing many of those who have been forcibly disappeared, attempting to disguise their deaths as encounters. The organization has called upon the United Nations and international human rights bodies to conduct an immediate and transparent investigation into the six unidentified bodies, establish their identities, and determine if they are among those previously reported missing.
