DLP Report PESHAWAR Chairperson Punjab Social Protection Authority Jahan Ara Wattoo and Director General Pemra Ayesha Wattoo on Thursday visited the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women (KPCSW) and held talks with its chairperson Dr Sumera Shams on strengthening women's protection and social empowerment. KPCSW Secretary Shazia Atta was also present at the meeting. The participants discussed matters of mutual interest, including protection of women's rights, their social and economic empowerment, support mechanisms, policy formulation and greater institutional cooperation. They also exchanged views on the proposed establishment of a Social Protection Authority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and measures to strengthen the province's social protection system. The meeting stressed the need for joint initiatives to address challenges faced by women, expand opportunities for them and ensure their effective participation in social and economic life. The participants expressed their commitment to continued cooperation, including sharing experiences and best practices, to promote women's welfare and strengthen protection mechanisms.
