The college football season started with a bang and ended with a power outage on Labor Day weekend, as top-ranked teams like Oregon and Ole Miss escaped close calls while Lane Kiffin and his No. 1-ranked transfer portal haul dominated Dabo Swinney and the other Tigers in Baton Rouge. With the first full weekend of the season officially in the books, we finally have our first look at how some of the biggest names in the transfer portal will impact their new programs. While some transfers made an immediate impact, others were slow out of the gates. We're only one week into the season, but let's take a look at how the top 10 transfers according to my big board at 247Sports performed this weekend and which newcomers stood out the most. A borderline frantic mover with video game-like elusiveness, Leavitt let his legs steal the show in his opening performance as LSU's signal caller. He rushed for more than 100 yards and two touchdowns in the Bayou Bengals' 51-10 throttling of Clemson. Although you could argue the No. 1-ranked transfer left a little to be desired as a passer in his first start under Lane Kiffin, the former Arizona State standout flashed enough throughout the second half to inspire confidence in his ability moving forward. Set to take on Ole Miss in Oxford in two weeks in one of the most highly anticipated games of the year, Leavitt's quick start was a welcome sight for the quarterback, Kiffin and LSU fans alike.
