Two men suspected of stealing copper from a business in Coachella were arrested, authorities said Tuesday. Luis Alberto Mendez, 27, and Jesus Rebollar Miranda, 29, were booked into the Benoit Detention Center in Indio on suspicion of conspiracy, burglary and vandalism, according to Lt. Deirdre Vickers of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Bail information was not immediately available. Deputies reported to a report of a burglary at 6:09 p.m. Sunday in the area of Avenue 51 and Cesar Chavez Street. The department said two suspects were reportedly on the roof of a Rite Aid.
