Breeze Airways ACY Review: Destinations and Experience

While many people are lamenting the loss of Spirit Air, I am celebrating the arrival of one of its replacements. A Whole New Experience at ACY: My Breeze Flight to Charleston I recently flew on Breeze Airways from Atlantic City to Charleston, SC, something I could not do on Spirit Air, and I had a delightful experience. I'm not here to bash Spirit; I never had a really bad experience using the former tenant of ACY, but let's be honest, it didn't have the greatest reputation. My first flight on Breeze was a breath of fresh air. Like usual, I was checked in, quickly went through TSA, and was sitting and having an omelette at The Beach House Bar and Grill about 15 minutes after being dropped off. Breeze had a brand-new plane that featured extra legroom, comfortable seats, and USB ports to charge your phone, which made my short hour-and-15-minute flight very enjoyable. The only complaint I have for Breeze is that I wish there were more days and more destinations to travel. Breeze Airways Nonstop Destinations Out of Atlantic City Florida Routes Fort Myers (RSW) Orlando (MCO) West Palm Beach (PBI / DJT) Tampa (TPA) Vero Beach (VRB) The Carolinas Charleston, SC (CHS) Myrtle Beach, SC (MYR) Raleigh / Durham, NC (RDU) Another thing I noticed with Breeze is that you can use it to take connecting flights. For instance, if you want to go to places like Key West, Cancun, New Orleans, or even the Bahamas, you can set that up from ACY on the Breeze App. How to Book Breeze Connecting Flights from ACY Open the App, click on Book, and pick ACY as your starting point. Then, in the drop-down menu, you can pick, for example, New Orleans. Next, pick your dates and hit search, and it will find you a flight. The example I used was Monday, Nov 16; there is a 12:45 p.m. flight from ACY to Orlando, then a flight from Orlando to New Orleans that lands at 7:11 p.m. In addition to Breeze, Allegiant flies these four destinations. I used Allegiant, flying from ACY to St. Petersburg in March when I went to see the Phillies play at Spring Training in Clearwater. I enjoyed being able to fly direct to St. Petersburg instead of to Tampa; it makes for a quicker commute to Clearwater Beach with less traffic. The airport in St. Pete is more like ACY, smaller and easier to navigate as opposed to Tampa. Allegiant Air Nonstop Destinations from ACY Fort Lauderdale (FLL): Allegiant Air Orlando / Sanford (SFB): Allegiant Air Punta Gorda / Fort Myers (PGD): Allegiant Air St. Petersburg / Clearwater (PIE): Allegiant Air Between the two options, they pretty much have the Spirit destinations covered and have a few options in North and South Carolina.
