The map claims the entire continent as the USA, including Mexico, Canada, Greenland, and Cuba. It does not provide an explanation from Trump for the Monday image. In total, North America comprises of 23 independent countries (including 13 Caribbean island nations) and 22 dependent territories in the Caribbean, as per the UN. As of September 5, 2026, North America has a population of 619,665,220, making it the fourth most populous continent in the world after Asia, Africa, and Europe. The Monday post also came after Trump's push involving geographic names.
