Kundi urges cadets to pursue education, character-building

MANSSEHRA - Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi Saturday urged cadets at Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Battarasi to pursue quality education, develop strong character and acquire practical skills to play an effective role in the country's progress. He was addressing an Independence Day ceremony at the cadet college, where he was the chief guest. The Governor hoisted the national flag, cut an Independence Day cake and launched a tree plantation campaign. He also visited the Martyrs' Memorial, where prayers were offered for the security, stability and prosperity of Pakistan. He paid tribute to the armed forces for their sacrifices and services in defending the country. The Governor said Pakistan Scouts Cadet College Battarasi was playing an important role in promoting education and preparing young people to contribute to national development in various fields. He urged the cadets to make the best use of their abilities and energies for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and to remain focused on education, character-building and service to the country as they entered practical life. He assured the cadets that he would make every possible effort to address issues facing the institution and appreciated its administration for its services. He said Pakistan was facing multiple challenges and the security forces had always rendered exemplary services for the defence of the country. Thousands of students had graduated from the institution and were now serving the country in various fields. The principal thanked Governor Kundi for attending the ceremony at short notice and urged the students to devote their energies to acquiring knowledge and developing strong character. Earlier, the Governor was received by Principal Brig (r) Abdul Hafeez, Adjutant Captain Hussain, Prof Ikram Sarwar and other officials. He was presented with a guard of honour. He was also briefed on a proposal to establish a Pakistan Scouts Cadet College in Dera Ismail Khan to promote educational opportunities in the region.
