2 ST MARY MEN ON MULTIPLE GUN CHARGES FROM SEPARATE INCIDENTS

CASTLETON, St Mary; September 8, 2026 The St Mary Police have charged 44-year-old construction worker Ricardo Kerr, otherwise called 'Jessi,' of School Hill, Castleton, St. Mary following several breaches of the Firearms Act stemming from an incident in Golden Valley, St. Mary, on Monday, December 29, 2025. The charges laid against Kerr are: shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony, and assault at common law. According to reports from the Port Maria Police, at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, December 29, Kerr and a man were among patrons at a bar in Gibbs Hill, Castleton, St. Mary. While at the establishment, the man reportedly questioned Kerr about an incident that had occurred earlier in the year involving Kerr and the man's sister. Kerr allegedly became boisterous, resulting in an altercation between the two men. During the confrontation, the man's relative intervened, pulled him away, and took him home. About 1:00 a.m., that same day, the man and other relatives were standing in front of their premises when Kerr, who was walking past, reportedly stopped and threatened the man before allegedly firing three rounds from a firearm in the man's direction. No injuries were reported. A report was made to the police. Following an intensive investigation, Kerr was arrested and later charged on Saturday, September 5, after he was positively identified during an identification parade. His court date is being finalised. -30- xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx GUARD CHARGED AFTER FAKE FIREARM, IMITATION GUN FOUND IN ST MARY HIGHGATE, St Mary; Sept. 8, 2026 A 36-year-old security guard is facing several gun charges following an incident in Highgate, St Mary on Saturday, September 5. He is 35-year-old Nickson Hamilton of Frazerwood, Highgate, St Mary. Hamilton has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, possession of a forged document, and uttering a forged document. According to reports, at approximately 6:00 p.m., police were responding to a crowd that was obstructing the seizure of a robot taxi when Hamilton was observed with a bulge in his waistband. He was accosted and told the police that he was a licensed firearm holder. Police say he presented a Firearm ID card. However, the card raised the police's suspicion. Hamilton was subsequently disarmed and taken to the Highgate Police Station, where the weapon was examined and found to be an imitation handgun with a magazine containing nine 9mm hollow-point rounds. Further checks also revealed that the Firearm Licensing Authority ID card was fake. Hamilton was charged and is scheduled to appear before the St. Mary Parish Court on Thursday, September 10. -30-
