CLEVELAND, Ohio - It has been a gorgeous end to the holiday weekend, but changes are coming to Northeast Ohio by the middle of the week. Showers and storms will develop ahead of our next cold front Wednesday, and a few of these storms could potentially be strong to severe. The team has decided to issue aLet's get through the holiday weekend first. We will continue to enjoy plenty of sunshine across the area through this evening along with dry conditions. Tuesday kicks off a shortened work and school week with plenty of sunshine and temperatures warming into the lower 80s by the afternoon. Subtle changes begin Tuesday night into early Wednesday as our next front starts to inch closer to Northeast Ohio. Humidity will be climbing and a stray shower cannot be ruled out. This brings us to our 19 First Alert Weather Day Wednesday. The main timeframe to monitor for showers and storms will be afternoon into the evening. The timing could be more conducive to a few stronger storms out ahead of our next cold front passing through the region. Out ahead of this front, daytime highs will be well into the mid to upper 80s. If a severe storm develops, our main concerns will be damaging wind gusts, hail and heavy rainfall. Overall, severe weather should remain fairly isolated, but we cannot rule out a warning or two at this time. Most of our area is painted under a Level 1 of 5 risk for severe storms. By Wednesday night, the front, which is sparking the better storm risk, starts to move south of our area. It may not completely clear our southern counties early Thursday. This may keep a few showers in the area Thursday morning, but severe weather would not be likely. Temperatures reset behind this front. Highs will stay in the mid 70s Friday before heating up once again this weekend. The weather pattern for the weekend will keep a daily risk for showers and storms as a front lingers nearby.
