Mustafa Kamal calls for new administrative units in Pakistan

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has called for the creation of new administrative units across Pakistan. He said the detailed inquiry report contains 33 recommendations. However, he noted that authorities would need time to implement those recommendations. The report examined the incident and identified several areas requiring improvement. Kamal said authorities had dismissed nine people after the inquiry found them responsible. One of those dismissed officials was a senior officer, according to the minister. He added that the Interior Ministry had received a letter seeking criminal cases against eight people. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given authorities three months to improve PIMS fire safety. The deadline also covers improvements to the hospital building's structure. Kamal said a new emergency department would become operational within 15 days. The facility will have 176 beds and expand emergency care capacity.
