Pune: Talegaon Dabhade police on Sunday arrested two men from Somatane Phata, about 48 hours after they allegedly assaulted and robbed a 40-year-old car driver of Rs1,000. The robbery occurred when the complainant, a Kamshet resident, was in Talegaon Dabhade. The accused have been identified as Arvind Koli (22) and Shubham Koli (25). They have been charged under sections 309 (robbery) and 311 (robbery or dacoity with an attempt to cause death or grievous hurt) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An officer said on Friday evenig the accused allegedly forced the complainant to stop his car. 'The duo dragged him out and assaulted him. They robbed him of Rs1,000 after threatening him with a sharp weapon,' the officer said. He said Arvind, who claimed to have been recently released from prison, also tried to attack the complainant with a large stone and threatened him with dire consequences. As people started gathering, the duo allegedly threatened them with a sharp weaponand fled, the officer said.
