Children's Aid Society receives $556,800 in provincial funding

Children's Aid Society will receive more than a half a million in provincial funding. Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli announced $892,200 through the Partner Facility Renewal Grant to support four community agencies in Nipissing. The funding is aimed to help local agencies undertake critical infrastructure repairs and upgrades, enabling them to continue delivering high-quality programs and services, close to home. 'The Ontario government recognizes that local organizations like the Children's Aid Society, Karis Disability Service (North Region), Community Living North Bay, and Nipissing Transition House play a vital role in delivering essential services to people in Nipissing,' Fedeli said. 'Through the Partner Facility Renewal Programs funding, the province is helping local service providers make critical enhancements so they can continue providing support to the people who need them most.' The local agencies receiving funding include: 'This funding will help support important facility renewal and improvements, ensuring we can continue providing safe, welcoming and supportive spaces for the children, youth and families we serve,' said Nancy Lafrance Rich, Executive Director Children's Aid Society of the District of Nipissing and Parry Sound. Megan Waqué, Executive Director of Community Living North Bay said the funding will be used to create a fully accessible bathroom at a local group home. 'This newly renovated bathroom will allow care to be delivered with respect and dignity and create an ergonomically safe and sound environment for employees. In addition, accessible bathrooms allow residents to age-in-place, allowing them to live at home longer and reduce demand on local long-term care homes. We are extremely grateful for this funding.'
