The incident happened at Eastwood Park in Giffnock, with emergency services called to the scene at around 4pm on September 7. All premises within the park were evacuated as a precaution, and a police cordon was put in place. Police advised the public to avoid the area while emergency crews responded to the incident. The gas company confirmed that a temporary repair was made, with teams set to return tomorrow to complete permanent works. A SGN spokesperson said: "We were called to this location this afternoon following third-party damage, which led to a gas escape outside the leisure centre. "We have made it safe in the past hour, so the leak has stopped, and we will return tomorrow to make a permanent repair."
