Detroit Lions announce 2026 team captains

As kickoff inches closer, the Detroit Lions announced their 2026 team captains on Monday.
Offensively, quarterback Jared Goff, left tackle Penei Sewell and star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown have all been chosen as captains. Defensively, linebacker Jack Campbell, defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and defensive tackle Alim McNeill were chosen as captains.
Punter Jack Fox was also chosen as one of the Lions' captains.
Detroit opens its 2026 NFL season against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Sept. 13 from Ford Field. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on Fox.
