inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) continues to strengthen efforts to handle wildfire in South Sumatra. One way to do this is by sending 4,000 liters of X-Fire extinguishing formula to support the fire suppression, particularly in peatland areas. The delivery was made via the INP Logistics Center (Slog Polri) on Sunday (9/6/2026). A total of 200 jerry cans containing X-Fire formula, each with a capacity of 20 liters, were loaded into two trucks from the Slog Polri warehouse. The Head of Public Information Bureau of INP Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko, stated that the delivery was part of police's operational support in handling forest and land fires in South Sumatra. "The X-Fire extinguishing formula will be used to assist in handling forest and land fires, especially in peatland areas that require rapid and precise handling," Trunoyudo said in a statement in Jakarta on Monday (9/7/2026). Trunoyudo explained that the 4,000 liters of formula were transported using two trucks. Each truck carried 100 20-liter jerry cans, totaling 2,000 liters. "This support is expected to strengthen the readiness of personnel in the field in extinguishing and controlling forest and land fires, so that the fires do not spread further and can be quickly contained," he said. The X-Fire formula has previously been used in forest and land fire management in South Sumatra. In its application, the formula is mixed with water at a ratio of 200 liters of formula and 800 liters of water for every 1,000 liters of mixture. The use of this formula aims to optimize water use when officers are extinguishing in difficult-to-reach areas. In addition to using the extinguishing formula, forest and land fire management in peatlands also uses a spiral spraying technique. This method is applied from the outer edges of the burning area gradually toward the main fire point to help break the fire's spread and accelerate the cooling process. "Handling forest and land fires requires synergy between personnel readiness, equipment support, appropriate extinguishing methods, and speed in responding to each fire. We ensure that this support continues to be strengthened so that handling in the field can proceed optimally," explained Trunoyudo. Two trucks carrying the X-Fire formula departed from the National Police's Slog on Sunday (9/6/2026) and headed to the South Sumatra Regional Police. Trunoyudo emphasized that the National Police are not only prioritizing extinguishing measures but also strengthening prevention efforts to prevent forest and land fires from spreading.
