New York Giants lock down their security blanket prior to 2026 season

As the New York Giants being their first season under John Harbaugh, the franchise is looking towards Jaxson Dart to be the team's quarterback of the future. Yet, in his first season Dart struggled as his dual-threat style often saw him in the Giants injury tent. Stepping in was backup quarterback Jameis Winston, who helped stabilize the offense while also serving as a tutor for Dart. After signing the two-year contract extension worth $13 million dollars, Winston took to social media expressing his excitement to stay a Giant for two more seasons. 'Shoutout Big Blue,' Winston said. 'Right before Sunday Night Football, you got me for a few more years. Let's eat some Ws together. Let's go out there and be our very best. Let's go, baby. Let's go, Big Blue!' Winston joined the Giants last season and appeared in three games, starting two of them. He completed 37 of 66 passes for 567 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions. The Giants open 2026 facing their NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 13.
