Dealer jailed after preparing heroin in Norwich kitchen

George Ward, 49, of Clifton Street, Norwich, appeared at Norwich Crown Court on Friday where he was sentenced to four years and eight months in prison after admitting to supplying heroin. The sentencing follows a police investigation into Class A drug supply in the city. George Ward (Image: Norfolk Constabulary) On June 1, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out a raid at an address in Clifton Street after receiving information that Ward was involved in the supply of Class A drugs. Ward was found inside the property along with a woman. Searches of the home uncovered Class A drugs in the kitchen, which was being used as a preparation area, along with more than £500 in cash and other drug-related paraphernalia. Both individuals were arrested and taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Ward was also charged with possession of criminal property, a charge he denied. The judge ordered this charge to lie on file. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £228. A 29-year-old woman was charged in connection with the investigation with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug and possession of criminal property. She appeared in court on July 23, but was found not guilty.
