Emergency crews respond to South Omaha house fire

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Firefighters responded to a house fire in South Omaha Monday afternoon. Smoke could be seen coming from inside a home near 22nd and N Streets. Omaha Fire Department officials said a furnace caught fire in the home and the flames spread to the attic. The family was home at the time and were able to evacuate to safety without injury. The Red Cross is working with the family as the home is unlivable due to the damage, OFD said.
