Two men injured in early Monday morning shooting in Elkhart ELKHART, Ind. (WISH) — The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a Monday morning shooting that left two men with non-life threatening injuries. According to a press release, just after 12:00 a.m. Monday, the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a report of gunfire near the intersection of Main and Simonton streets. Officers responded shortly after the call was made and began investigating. During the investigation, a 19-year-old male walked in to Elkhart General Hospital with a gunshot wound. Later in the morning, a second 19-year-old male arrived at a different local hospital with a gunshot wound. Police did not believe the injuries to be life-threatening. Elkhart County Regional SWAT executed a search warrant on behalf of the Elkhart Police Department in the 200 block of West Simonton Street, police said. The release said no arrests have been made in connection to this incident as the investigation is ongoing.
